Newsom Cemetery, Newsom, Davidson County, North Carolina

Lat: 35° 32' 47"N, Lon: 80° 09' 51"W Contributed by Brandy H. Hartsell, Jan 31, 2004 [branandjohn@hotmail.com]. Total records = 22. Take Hwy 49 North from Richfield toward Asheboro. Hwy 49 will merge with Hwy 8. Stay straight until Hwy 8 turns left. Take Hwy 8 North for 2.8 miles until you come to Newsome Rd. on the left. Take a left on Newsome Rd. and go 7 tenths of a mile and cemetery will be on your left beside an old abandoned house. This cemetery is north of where the old community of Newsom used to be. It may have been the town cemetery, or it may have been a family cemetery. I was unable to find out who owned or still owns it. It appears abandoned. I walked the cemetery on Jan 24, 2004 and record all tombrocks. - Brandy H. HartsellDoby, Catharine J., d. 7 Sep 1897, age 59, wife of Isaac P.
