Directions: From the intersection of Hwy. 70 and Hwy. 50 in Garner, take Hwy. 50 south 6 miles to Cleveland School Rd. (SR 1010). Angle SE onto Cleveland School Rd. and go 2 miles until you reach the intersection of Cleveland School Rd. (SR 1010) and Hwy. 42. Continue through the intersection on 1010 and immediately park in the CVS Pharmacy parking lot on your left. Gower Cemetery is directly across 1010, right next to a used car lot and very thickly overgrown. Gower Cemetery is an abandoned cemetery on a potentially commercial corner. Thanks to Gayle Franks for locating this hidden cemetery. These markers are so hidden in the growth, I could not back up in this jungle to take a photo of the whole burial site.
